Noisy Neighbor privacy policy

Last updated October 21, 2026. This policy covers the Noisy Neighbor iPhone app by Clint Tustison.

Sound is measured on your iPhone and is never recorded or sent anywhere. Your cases stay on the phone. Ordinance lookups send only the city or ZIP code you type.

Microphone and motion sensor

The microphone is used only to measure sound levels while you are recording an incident. No audio is saved as a file or sent anywhere. Only the numbers, such as the average and peak level, are saved with the incident.

The motion sensor is used the same way, to measure vibration. Only the readings are saved.

What the app stores

Cases, incidents, notes and any contact details you add for signing reports are stored on your iPhone. The app has no accounts, no ads and no analytics.

The App Store privacy label for the app says "Data Not Collected."

Ordinance lookup

When you look up a noise ordinance, the city or ZIP code you typed is sent to a server I run. That server passes it to an AI model through OpenRouter, which writes up the local rules. The request does not include personal information such as your cases, notes or contact details. Like any web server, mine can see the IP address a request comes from.

Reports and letters

PDF reports and letters are made on your phone. They only leave it if you share or send them yourself.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. I never see your card or payment details.

Deleting your data

Your data in the app is stored on your iPhone. To delete it, delete the app. Copies can also live in your iCloud or computer backups of the phone until those backups are replaced or deleted.

The website

noisyneighborhelp.com has its own privacy page at noisyneighborhelp.com/privacy/.

Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, I will update this page and the date at the top.
